Spa Holidays for Young People
It’s long been thought that the Spa holiday is very much associated with middle-aged, married couples or groups of women, looking to get away from it all and escape the stresses and strains of modern living. Spa breaks are a world away from the younger generation’s idea of a holiday, namely a boozy jaunt to an island somewhere involving drunken debauchery, pillage and many other unmentionable activities besides. Is it time for youngsters to reconsider what constitutes a holiday? Why return from your vacation sunburned, fatigued and in need of six-month detox, all the while moaning that you ‘need another holiday to get over the last one’.
A recent survey revealed that stress levels in young people aged 16-25 were on the up, which is not surprising considering the ever increasing pressure from schools and families to achieve good exam results, the recession threatening jobs and the soul-destroying rigmarole of job hunting. An alcohol fueled holiday in Magaluf seems counter-productive considering that when asked, 82% of youngsters said their main objective on holiday was to ‘relax’.
There is no better way to cleanse the mind, body and soul than a spa break which is why teens and twenty-something’s should seriously consider a Spa holiday as an alternative to the Falarakis and Malias of this world. This is not as un-cool as it might seem at first sight. The cruise holiday, long supposed to be the [province of your gran, is now a viable option for” twenteens” looking to have fun and chill out. A spa break will take chilling to the next level! By day you and you friends have full access to all the services and treatments on offer, which at most Spa hotels includes: hydrotherapy, flotation chambers, deep massage and Turkish baths, in addition to the usual sunbathing and swimming. In the evening you can enjoy civilized dinner and drinks with your friends.
Upon your return you will be relaxed, rejuvenated and actually look better than you did when you went away. Your mates will be green with envy when they see you with clean, glowing, sun kissed skin and bundles of energy while they suffer with sunburn, tiredness, a sore liver, and the need to go out and buy a glut of skincare products! This year ditch the grotty hotel, cheap imitation vodka and rowdy stag parties for a truly relaxing holiday, choose a spa break! This entry was posted on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 at 4:11 pm and is filed under General News
