It is that time of year again where the first couple of months at work after that Christmas break are kicking in and you have had enough of the office already. An idea of taking a nice long break in the Spring/Summer pops into your mind and you think, where on earth should I go this year and what should I do?

Have a break, have a spa holiday
The chances are you have been on a holiday to a sunny region of the world and have just sat around a pool for a couple of weeks doing nothing. You are not alone here as many people choose to do this every year as a way of getting rid of the stress that builds up over the course of working hard. Other people relax better by taking a more active route when they jet off on their holidays, skiing and walking holidays are just two of the options here.
On the other hand, some simply like to drive a few miles down the road and rent a cottage for a couple of nights.
I am almost certain there is one thing you have not tried yet, a Spa Holiday.
Although sitting around a pool for a number of days doing nothing other than going for the occasional dip and sipping from a margarita glass is nice, the chances are when you get back the stress is simply going to kick in almost instantly. The body gets tired and wears down during the course of the year and getting yourself to one of our spa hotels could help to rejuvenate not only the body but the mind too.
Let’s be honest, everyone likes being pampered, and getting yourself a full spa experience is certainly going to make you feel like Royalty. Take a look at some of our wonderful spa holiday packages today, we are sure to have something that will suit your needs from India Spa Holidays to spa holidays in Europe

“New year, new you” is a popular phrase, but feeing obliged to make New Year’s resolutions can be bad for you according to some reports. Over seven million people in the UK make a New Year’s resolution, many of which have a negative focus that concentrates on perceived imperfections. If you don’t stick to those resolutions (and a lot of us don’t) then feelings of failure and inadequacy can be triggered, so what started out as a resolution to improve yourself ends up being detrimental to your wellbeing.
Here at Sanctuary Spa Holidays, we want to support you in achieving your New Year’s resolutions to improve your health and wellbeing. Rather than chastise yourself about supposed shortcomings, you can set realistic targets and achieve them at a Sanctuary Spa Holidays spa or resort. That doesn’t have to rely on the many therapies like massage or ayurvedic treatments offered at our resorts. Simply being active releases endorphins that are proven to be beneficial for your mental wellbeing. You don’t have to be an athlete either as a gentle stroll in the grounds or beaches of any of our spa resorts will do the trick. Taking advantage of natural ecotherapy and connecting with nature boosts your mood and lifts depression and trying something new will keep your mind stimulated and give you confidence in yourself.
So by all means, set yourself targets and goals with a New Year’s Resolution aimed at healthy living, but don’t focus on problems or insecurities that mean you’ll probably fail to keep resolutions and end up feeling worse than when you started. Focus instead on selecting the Spa holiday that will best help you meet all your personal ambitions. Thermal Spas, Thalassotherapy Spas, Ayurveda Spas offer effective relaxation and treatments as well as beauty and relaxation regimes that will help you make those New Year’s Resolutions come true.

Several of our featured Spas and resorts incorporate Ayurvedic treatments as part of their established regimes. But what is Ayurveda exactly? Dr. Praseed Nair, Ayurveda Consultant, explains the philosophy and approach behind Ayuverda…
Life is a journey. For those who know the destination and are confident in the road map, it is a pleasurable one and can be the source of self realisation. Ayurveda is the marriage of the “science and art of living” which guides you in the journey of life. Ayurveda aims for a holistic human being with a sharp intellect to pierce the hidden truths of nature as well as a heart concerned about fellow beings. That intellectual and spiritual balance leads to, and is reinforced by, a physical efficiency to perform duties properly. A healthy body is nothing more than all these factors in equilibrium. It is the derangement of this state of equilibrium that leads to disease.
That balance is maintained dynamically by intelligently adjusting to the changes happening around you and this has to be done on a personal and a social level to achieve well being. Well being is achievable, no matter how much the complex ways of modern man makes it seemingly impossible to attain. Well being is independence of mind and soul and a sense of self that does not depend upon possessions, position or power. Well being is all about attitude: to flow with the rhythm of the universe, to join the symphony and be one with it. Ayurveda considers man as an integral part of Mother Nature and that is the beauty of Ayurveda. While it cures, it also teaches to synchronise with the nature.
Personal health is the sum total of good food, good regimen, good emotions and good environment. As Individuals, we can take care of food, rest, work, and emotions to ensure that personal balance. Collectively, we can do our best to ensure that the environment is one in which those values are reflected. Ayurveda maintains that the cardinal reasons for all diseases are the distracted, unfocussed or derailed intellect, weak will, and impaired memory. Together, this is termed pranjaparadha. To conceive the right practice of health, you need a clear and focused intellect and to put those conceptions into practice requires a strong will. To avoid the errors and mistakes of the past, memory has to be intact. So pranjapradha remains the reason behind all the reasons that cause diseases.
The solution is to know the right nature of things around us and not to forget our position in the entire scheme of things. Good environmental awareness is essential for a healthy society.
Epidemics, natural calamities like famine, flood, drought etc are all essentially man-made and can be guarded against. Recognising that we are an integral part of the nature means that any harm to nature will harm man’s very existence. Ayurveda which takes into account body, mind, intellect and soul in its pursuit of holistic health, has a universal role to play. Its all inclusive philosophy makes it a healing science suited for the entire world.
